Starting a business doesn't have to be complicated. Follow these simple steps and get listed on BlakityBlack today.

Step 1: Choose Your Business Name

Pick a name that is easy to remember and tells people what you do.

  • Royal Roots Hair Studio

  • Tera Tea

Don't overthink it. Your business name can evolve as your business grows.

Step 2: Create a Free Logo

Free logo websites:

  • Canva.com

  • Adobe Express

  • Logo.com

Choose a simple design with:

  • Your business name

  • 1–2 colors

  • Easy-to-read text

Download your logo as a PNG image.

Step 3: Create a Business Email

Examples:

You can create a free email account through Gmail.

Step 4: Create a Social Media Page

Recommended:

  • Instagram

  • Facebook

Post:

  • Photos of your work

  • Products

  • Services

  • Customer testimonials

You do not need hundreds of followers to get started.

Step 5: Record Your Verification Video

Using your phone, record a short 2–10 second video.
Your face and voice must be clearly visible and audible.
Example:
"Hi, I'm Tonya, owner of Tonya's Bakery, and I'm proud to be part of the BlakityBlack community."
Upload this video during your BlakityBlack registration.

Step 6: Complete Your Business Listing

Add:

  • Business Name

  • Description

  • Logo

  • Owner Photo

  • Social Media Links

  • Verification Video

Then submit your listing.

Step 7: Promote Your Business

Share your BlakityBlack business page with:

  • Friends

  • Family

  • Church members

  • Community groups

  • Social media followers
