Verification Process
Why We Verify
Blakity Black exists to help consumers confidently identify and support Black-owned businesses. To help maintain the integrity of our directory, every submitted business must complete our verification process.
Step 1 – Complete Your Business Listing
Provide accurate business information, including:

Business name
-
Category
-
Description
-
City and State
-
Photos
-
Contact information (optional)
-
Social media links (optional)
Step 2 – Upload Your Verification Video
Each business owner must upload a short verification video.
The video should include:
"Hello, my name is ________. I am the owner (or co-owner) of (Business Name), and I am proud to list my business on Blakity Black."
Please ensure:

Your face is clearly visible.

Your voice is audible.
-
The business name is stated.
-
The video is recent.
-
The video is your own.
Step 3 – Review
Our team reviews submissions to verify:

Black ownership
-
Business authenticity
-
Completeness of the listing
-
Compliance with our guidelines
Most reviews are completed within 24–48 hours, though some may take longer during periods of high submission volume.
Step 4 – Approval
Once approved:

Your listing becomes visible in the directory.

Visitors can discover your business.

Your business becomes part of the Blakity Black community.
If Additional Information Is Needed
We may contact you if:

the video is unclear,
-
required information is missing,
-
or additional verification is necessary.
Fraud Prevention
Providing false information or impersonating a business owner undermines the trust of our community.
Blakity Black reserves the right to:
-
deny verification,
-
remove listings,
-
permanently ban repeat offenders,
-
and cooperate with law enforcement when fraudulent activity is suspected.
Verification Is Not an Endorsement
Verification confirms only that a business has completed Blakity Black's ownership verification process. It does not constitute an endorsement, certification, guarantee of quality, or legal determination of ownership, licensing, or regulatory compliance.
